RENOWNED ADJUDICATORS CONFIRMED FOR

Navan Choral Festival

Navan Choral Festival is delighted to announce that Robert Dean and Russell Smythe will be adjudicating the Young Opera Voice competition and Adult Choir competitions in May.

Robert and Russell bring a wealth of experience to the Choral Festival. Robert has enjoyed a ten-year professional singing career with major UK companies and now divides his time between teaching singing, choral directing and conducting opera in the UK and abroad. Robert is Professor of Singing at London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama as well as Artistic Director of Oxford Orpheus.

Robert will be making a return visit to Navan in 2017, having adjudicated at the 2016 Choral Festival.

Russell lectures at the Royal College of Music, London, and teaches Choral Scholars at King’s College, Cambridge. He has a busy private studio with students who are currently singing on the most prestigious opera and concert stages around the world. We are delighted to welcome Russell on his first visit to Navan and to the Choral Festival.

Sean Lynch, Festival Director has said “that it is a testimony to the success of the Choral Festival, the high standard of the competitors, the range of competitions and the friendliness of the welcome to Navan that influenced both Robert Dean and Russell Smythe to be part of Navan Choral Festival 2017”.
